Spa Ceylon is rapidly expanding their footprint outside Sri Lanka and will be opening their first outlets in Australia and Azerbaijan soon. Director of Marketing & Co-Founder of Spa Ceylon, Shalin Balasuriya, said that they already have 117 branches overseas and will have one in Azerbaijan and around three in Austria this year.

He told this to Daily News Business when Spa Ceylon, the iconic luxury wellness brand, announced its collaboration with Shangri-La Colombo for a series of events centered on ‘Wellness Month’. The events will take place throughout the month of June and will feature a range of wellness events scheduled around various landmark days including Global Wellness Day, International Yoga Day and so on.

Spa Ceylon is a luxury wellness brand founded in May 2009 and in over 106 locations in more than 26 countries. Balasuriya said that even during the Pandemic they kept on opening new branches all over the world and the C-19 along with the global shift toward using natural wellness products have given them a good marketing edge overseas. “In addition the use of herbal and wellness products and a blend of ayurveda has also helped to rapidly market our products overseas especially in Europe helping to bring forex to Sri Lanka. We believe that wellness is not a pursuit, but a way of life. We also don’t see any drop in demand from the world market.”

He said today 65% of their revenue is generated from overseas sales and they would keep on opening more outlets overseas.

Spa Ceylon has partnered with Shangri-La Colombo to offer an array of exclusive wellness activities and experiences and General Manager of Shangri-La Colombo Herve Duboscq, said that they also use Spa Ceylon products in their hotel.’

Given our Asian heritage, we take a holistic approach to the wellbeing of our guests and Spa Ceylon will also have an opportunity to present their products to the Shangri-La chain.” (SS)
