Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena announced Parliament on Tuesday (2) that he endorsed the certificate on several Bills on Monday (1) which were passed in Parliament in the recent past.
The Speaker has endorsed the certification on the Bills titled Secured Transaction, Registration of Documents (Amendment), Trust Receipts (Amendment), Mortgage (Amendment), Finance Leasing (Amendment), Inland Trust Receipts (Amendment) and Companies (Amendment).
Accordingly, the relevant Bills come into effect as the Secured Transaction Act No. 17 of 2024, the Registration of Documents (Amendment) Act No. 18 of 2024, Trust Receipts (Amendment) Act No. 19 of 2024, the Mortgage (Amendment) Act No. 20 of 2024, the Lease Financing (Amendment) Act No. 21 of 2024, Inland Trust Receipts (Amendment) Act No. 22 of 2024 and Companies (Amendment) Act No. 23 of 2024 with effect from Monday (1).
