A delegation of 10 officers from the Special Criminal Investigation Division of China, will join the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Sri Lanka Police, to investigate the large number of Chinese nationals arrested recently for computer crimes committed by them.
The Police Media Division said that the Special Chinese team of CID officials have been brought into the country, through mediations by the Foreign Ministry, as the laptops and mobile phones seized from the arrested Chinese nationals, contain data in the Chinese language, which was an obstacle in understanding the contents.
The 10-member team of the Special Chinese CID met with the local CID officials yesterday morning (2) at 9.30 am at the CID Headquarters auditorium to commence investigations.
DIG CID Rohan Premaratne and of the CID Director, SSP Mangala Dehideniya joined this meeting with the Chinese Special CID team.
