The University of Sri Jayawardenapura Team emerged champions of the 2022 Inter-University Cricket Tournament, held at the Colombo University Grounds. A total of 16 teams participated in this tournament and the University of Sri Jayawardenapura Team defeated Moratuwa University by eight wickets in the final encounter.
Moratuwa University batting first were bowled out for 113 runs in 49.2 overs with Kavindu Ediriweera returning excellent bowling figures of three for 20. In reply, the University of Sri Jayawardenepura reached their target in 22 overs with Kasun Abeyratne(36), Umesh Lakshan (32) and Sajith de Silva (24) making useful contributions.
