The Artillery Complex in Minneriya marked the State Vesak Festival with grandeur manner and devotion. The celebrations began with a solemn “Bodhi Pooja Pinkama” setting a serene and spiritual tone.
This was followed by a “Manioc and Pol Roti Dansala” which saw the enthusiastic participation of over thousands of individuals from the neighbouring villages. The attendees relished the traditional meals, creating a lively and festive atmosphere that highlighted the communal spirit and cultural richness of the event.
Defence Services Command and Staff College Commandant and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment Major General B.K.G.M.L. Rodrigo RSP psc IG, accompanied by Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Artillery Seva Vanitha Branch, Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne RSP USP psc, Chief of Staff of the OCDS, Commander Artillery Brigade, Centre Commandant, Senior Officers, their spouses and other Ranks of the Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment, along with their family members graced the occasion to enhanced the festive atmosphere, and make the Dansala a resounding success.
