A five-member delegation headed by Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage arrived in Islamabad on Monday (27) to attend the Inaugural session of the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) Summit and Asia Youth Minister’s Meeting scheduled to be held from January 28 to 30 in Islamabad, Pakistan. Other members of the delegation include Additional Secretary, Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports, Dinesha Vidanagamachchi, CAYA Chair and Youth Delegates, Mohamed Sajith Ifas and M. Sanjana Madhubhashini Dias.
Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Islamabad, A. Christy Ruban and Defence Advisor to the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Islamabad, Brigadier Kaminda Silva, along with officials of the Pakistan Prime Minister’s office, welcomed the delegation at Islamabad International Airport.
The Summit, which focuses on global challenges, environmental issues, digital transformation and new approaches to social and economic inclusion, will be attended by ministers and young leaders from over 13 countries. It will also feature several discussion sessions, including a capacity building session on climate action, as well as a session focused on leadership, stakeholder management, and resource mobilisation.
