Sri Lanka elected to UNESCO Executive Board

Sri Lanka has been elected to the executive board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the term 2023-2027 with 144 votes, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry , together with Embassy of Sri Lanka in France and the Ministry of Education is pleased to have spearheaded the successful campaign for Sri Lanka’s election.

In the Asia-Pacific Region, six out of nine candidates were elected by UNESCO member states.
