Sri Lanka’s inflation rises to 7.2% in July

Sri Lanka’s inflation rate increased in July, according to the Consumer Price Index and monthly consumer inflation data.

The Department of Census and Statistics said inflation, which stood at 6.5% in June, increased to 7.2% in July.

Meanwhile, inflation in the food category increased to 4.9% in July from 3.3% in June.

However, inflation in the non-food category declined slightly to 9.2% in July from 9.3% in June, the Department of Census and Statistics said. (Newswire)
