St. Sebastian’s College 20th Annual Carol Service on Dec. 10

The Choir of St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, will celebrate its annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, on December 10, at the College Main Hall from 6.30 p.m. The event will unite the college choir, guided by Rev. Fr. Daya Dharshana, and led by Ramiru Fernando, Randima Dissanayake, Goshitha Chathuranga, and Ameesha Fernando. The choir, trained by Harith Shihan and directed by Sanjeeva Silva_both proud products of the college choir_has a rich history spanning 20 consecutive years, and this year’s theme, “King of Kings,” adds a special touch to the celebration.

The annual carol service has become a prominent and alluring event in the school calendar, spreading Christmas cheer among the Moratuwa community.

Admission is free, adding to the festive spirit while aligning with the college’s dedication to honouring Christmas traditions, choral music, and the spiritual essence of the holidays.

Featuring the participation of 100 school choristers from grades 4 to 13, the Carols will include a mix of traditional hymns in English, German, and Latin, classical compositions from great composers, and traditional Sinhala hymns.
