The State Literary Awards Ceremony (2023) will be held on September 14 at 2.00 pm at the Elphinstone Theatre in Maradana under the patronage of President Ranil Wickremesinghe and with the participation of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister Vidura Wickremanayake.
Here the Sahityaratna Lifetime Award, will be presented to Emeritus Prof.Sunanda Mahendra, K.Sattanathan and Prof.Gerald Peiris.
The State Literary Awards which recognizes outstanding literary works and honours literary figures who have enriched the Sri Lankan literary field, is organized jointly by the Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Ministry, the Department of Cultural Affairs, the Sri Lanka Arts Council, and the State Literary Advisory Council. Here, 41 State Literary Awards will be presented under 19 categories.
