STF arrests man with smuggled cigarettes

A team of officers from the Police Special Task Force Organized Crime Prevention Unit took into custody a 29-year-old resident of Ragama together with a stock of cigarettes imported to this country without payment of duty, which had been prepared for sale sans the Government warning printed on the packets.

The suspect was arrested in Ragama and handed over to the Seeduwa Police Station for further investigations.
