The Police Special Task Force yesterday seized 12 kilogrammes of heroin, from a house in Galwana, Angoda believed to be worth over Rs.300 million. The police also arrested the house owner
in connection with the incident. Since there is a severe shortage of heroin these days, the street value of one gram of heroin is around Rs.26,000, the officers involved in the raid of the Police Special Task Force said. The Special Task Force states that the owner of the house who was arrested with this heroin is an associate of an underworld leader named Jile.
This underworld criminal is said to be coordinating heroin trafficking from a foreign country. The police are investigating.
