Former Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS), retired Major General Suresh Sallay is to be taken back into the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) this afternoon, after doctors determined that he could be discharged from hospital.
A 10-member medical committee at the Colombo National Hospital informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that Sallay had completed his treatment and was fit to be discharged.
Following the medical assessment, Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris informed the court that Sallay would be taken back into CID custody this afternoon.
Sallay had been receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital while in CID custody.
