A joint search operation conducted by the Navy and Police Narcotic Bureau in the Nochchikulam area of Trincomalee on Friday (18) led to the arrest of a suspect with 15g and 310mg of methamphetamine being peddled.
The operation was conducted by SLNS Mahaweli in the Eastern Naval Command, with the assistance of Police Narcotic Bureau – Trincomalee in the Nochchikulam area. After intercepting a suspicious motorbike on the road, this 15g and 310mg of methamphetamine was found and the suspect, motorbike and narcotic substance were taken into custody.
The suspect held in this operation was identified as a resident of Kumankulam, Vavuniya aged 25.
