Suspended Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera reinstated with back pay

The Judicial Service Commission(JSC) has taken steps to reinstate Kosala Senadheera, who was under suspension while serving as the Colombo Fort Magistrate, with immediate effect.

Accordingly, he has been acquitted of all charges and attached to the Colombo Magistrate’s Court along with his back pay.
Senadheera’s service had been suspended effective July 10, 2024, based on allegations that he had illegally obtained electricity and water for his official residence.

The Judicial Service Commission, headed by the Chief Justice, reached this decision following a lengthy and formal inquiry lasting 27 months, during which evidence was recorded from over 20 witnesses.

Kosala Senadheera also serves as the most senior magistrate of the special grade in the judicial field. (Newswire)
