The Colombo Additional Magistrate S.Prabhakaran has issued an order to release 13 elephants taken into the custody by the CID to their original owners. The Magistrate made this order pursuant to the submissions made by the Criminal Investigations Department.
An extraordinary gazette notification has been issued to register the tamed elephants within three months.
