Tea exports for the month of October 2022 totaled 19.0 M/Kgs, showing a decrease of 5.34 M/Kgs vis-à-vis 24.34 M/Kgs of September 2021. All main categories have shown a negative variance compared to October 2021.
FOB value of Rs. 2,077.46 in October 2022 records the highest ever in a calendar month surpassing the previous best of Rs. 1,981.63 recorded in September 2022 as it crosses over the Rs. 2,000 mark for the first time in history.
January-October 2022 cumulative exports totalled 211.61 M/Kgs, showing a decrease of 24.36 M/Kgs (10%) vis-à-vis 235.97 M/Kgs of January-October 2021. All categories have witnessed a decline in comparison with the corresponding period of 2021.
