Eheliyagoda Police on Tuesday arrested a teacher of a primary school located
in the Eheliyagoda area for abusing a female student. This 10-year-old student has passed the Year 5 scholarship exam and was waiting to get admitted to another school. Police said she is a prefect of this primary school. This student has been assigned to take care of the Grade 3 class when they administer panchaseelaya in the morning.
Police said the teacher had allegedly committed the offence by touching her chest during the period when the students were meditating.
