The Kaduwela Police has arrested a tuition master for pointing a laser light at the Magistrate from inside the Court during proceedings at the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
The Registrar of the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court had taken steps to inform the Kaduwela Police Station that someone had pointed a laser beam towards the Magistrate.
Accordingly, the OIC with the officers of the criminal division came to the Court as per the order of the Magistrate and, implemented the search of nearly a hundred people present for the proceedings. The work of the court was temporarily stopped due to the search. Then the suspect was found in the possession of a device that emits laser light.
A 30-year-old resident of Kotu Bamma Road, Kotte has been arrested. The suspect is to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
