The Wattegama Police have arrested a private tuition teacher and a 32-year-old woman over alleged sexual abuse of a 14 year old girl.
The 32 year old woman is the mother of the 14 year old girl and the police said that she was arrested as the mother had allegedly encouraged the sexual abuse of her daughter by the said teacher.
The police said that the 40 year old teacher who was arrested on suspicion is also alleged to have had an extramarital affair with the 14 year old girl’s mother.
The suspects had been arrested following a complaint by the girl’s father.
The suspects have been remanded until March 9 after being produced in courts.
