Ten eminent senior attorneys who were appointed as the President’s Counsels by President Ranil Wickremesinghe were seen on Monday 29 taking oaths at a ceremonial sitting of the Supreme Court.
They were sworn in before Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya and other Supreme Court Justices.
Appeal Court Justices, High Court Judges, District Judges, Magistrates and many other attorneys and Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam have joined to witness the swearing-in ceremony held at the Supreme Court Complex.
The 10 newly appointed President’s Counsels are Chamantha Weerakoon, Dr. Asanga Gunawansha, Mohammed Adamaly, Harsha Fernando, Dr. Shivaji Felix, Faisza Markar, BASL President Kaushalya Nawaratne, Upal Kumarapperuma, Viran Corea and Eraj de Silva.
