Ten students hospitalised with vaccine complications

Ten students from a leading school in Kalutara were admitted to the Kalutara Nagoda Teaching Hospital on Thursday (28) after suffering from vaccine poisoning.

The students, aged 12 and 13-years-old, were reportedly given a vaccine at the school, following which they showed symptoms of breathing difficulties and fainting. The Kalutara health sector authorities took necessary action and admitted the affected students to the hospital.

Later, the students were transferred to the Kalutara Gallassena Child and Women’s Hospital. However, the hospital staff has reported that the students’ conditions are not serious.
