A 38-year-old Thai woman has been arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with a stock of Kush and hashish allegedly brought into Sri Lanka from Bangkok, Thailand.
Police said officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau’s BIA sub-unit arrested the suspect in the early hours of Sunday (20) while she was attempting to enter the country through the airport’s arrival terminal after arriving on a flight from Bangkok.
Officers recovered 3.220 kilograms of Kush and 1.852 kilograms of hashish from her possession.
The Police Narcotics Bureau’s BIA unit is conducting further investigations into the alleged smuggling and importation of the drugs.
The suspect is due to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today (20). (Newswire)
