The Business School (TBS), Sri Lanka’s first educational institution created to maximize the potential of digital entrepreneurs, recently received recognition at the South Asia Business Excellence Awards, which were hosted in Dhaka, Bangladesh under the heading of ‘Educational institute with best academic and industry interface’ received by the Principal Thushara
Dissanayake and Assistant General Manager Samali Gunawardane. The Business School had most recently won a Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) award, which was their most recent honor. Nuwan Jayakody, who came up with the basic concept to build the institute, was the creator of the Business School. The school was founded in 2017 by Dulendra Herath and Thushara Dissanayake with just two students. This school has expanded to become a sizable organization that enrolls more than 400 students each month. While the fully equipped education center is located on the grounds of Nikado City, Kadawatha, and the institution’s Corporate Office is located in the World Trade Center.
The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is close to the Business School’s Training Center in Kandy. The institute provides a variety of courses, including ones in computer science, advanced graphic design, guitar, organ, and dancing, as well as courses in English and Chinese, financial management, and e-commerce.
The three-part, five-week certificate in digital entrepreneur course is open to anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in earning online money. The following phase will teach how to practically construct a digital marketplace and strategies to make money using the knowledge a student obtained over the course of two months. The Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission has granted a certificate to each student who successfully completed this course (TVEC). The Business School is one of the first institutions in the nation to hold ISO 9001:2015 Management System and ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organizational Management System certifications.
