The Employers’ Federation of Ceylon (EFC), while extending its best wishes to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that considering the highly competitive environment businesses are required to operate in at present, the President should initiate labour law reforms.
“These will result in the promotion of investment, creation of new and better job opportunities, strengthen social security and create an enabling environment for employees and employers to realize the full potential of the modern world of work. While transforming the labour law, the EFC also emphasizes the importance of recognition of the digital transformation taking place in the world of work and calls for the creation of an enabling environment to foster economic growth for the national economy to remain competitive and sustainable.”
The EFC also assures its commitment in promoting initiatives and policies to achieve social harmony through productive employment. The EFC, established in 1929,is an organization of employers dealing with Labour, Employment and Social policy in Sri Lanka. Today, it is the
principal organization of employers promoting employer interests at national level.
