Thimeth Arosha a spiker par excellence

Fifteen year old Grade nine student, Best Setter All Island DSI under 15 Volleyball Tournament 2023 Thimeth Arosha has brought honour and immence glory to his former school Hathiniya Primary School Marawila and to his Alma Mater Dhammissara National School Nattandiya with his deeds in the feild of Volleyball.

Thimeth who hails from Halpanwila East Marawila was born on 15th January 2009 and was admitted to his neighbouring school Haththiniya Primary School Marawila in 2013. Whilst at this school he took part in the Inter House Sports Meets and

won places and when he came upto Grade Six he commenced volleyball under M Kumaratunga and his school was involved in only friendly matches and his position was Setter.

Then in 2022 his parents Nihal Ranjan Hapanpedige and Rasika Damayanthi realized that their son’s forte is Volleyball and to enhance the game they drafted their son to Dhammissara National School Nattandiya and he came under Volleyball Coach Keerthi Jayasekara and he was an unanimous choice for the school under 15 Setter of the volleyball team. Same year they played in the DSI Divisional, Zonal, District and Provincial Tournaments and swept the board and in all these tournaments and they became Champions.

Taking part in the 2023 DSI All Island under 15 tournament they were the Champions by beating more fancied St. Xaviers College Marawila in the finals three nil and Thimeth was adjudged as the All Island DSI under 15 Best Setter.
