Three arrested over attack on Omani garment factory owner

The Criminal Investigation Department has arrested three suspects involved in a brutal attack on an Omani Managing Director of a garment factory in Katana on March 30. A 31-year-old businessman,  a resident of Katana, Baduwatte, a 42-year-old businessman and a 26-year-old labourer, a resident of Adimulle, Katana have been arrested.

A group attacked the 55-year-old managing director of a garment factory, and a security officer of the garment factory on March 30.

The director of the garment factory, who was injured in the attack, was also treated in the hospital. He had later informed his country’s Embassy about the matter.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe had given instructions to the Inspector General to conduct an investigation into the attack by the Criminal Investigation Department. Accordingly, the Inspector General had handed over the investigations regarding this assault to the Criminal Investigation Department. Special security had also been provided to this garment factory and the Special Task Force was deployed.
