Three girls use hair pins to escape Children’s Home

Three girls who were detained at a Children’s Home in Tiraimadu, Batticaloa have escaped in the early morning of Sunday, Police said.

According to the Police, these girls aged 14, 15 and 16 years, who are victims of rape and had been detained in the children’s home on an order by the Court.

These girls are residents of Valachchenai and Velavali Police areas.It has been revealed that they had escaped through the window of their room by removing the steel grill using a hair pin.

The security officer of the children’s home had not noticed the escape of the girls due to the heavy rains that occurred at that time, police said.

These girls had been detained at this place for the past six months and their escape had been well planned.

The Police will take steps to locate the three girls and produce them before the Court. Police are investigating.
