Following the modernisation of the Maho–Anuradhapura stretch of the northern railway line, train services between Colombo and Kankesanturai (KKS) will resume today, Sri Lanka Railways announced.
The first train will depart from the Colombo Fort railway station at 5.45 am and it will arrive at Kankesanturai at 1.23 pm. The next train will depart from the Colombo Fort railway station at 1.45 pm. Meanwhile, a Colombo-bound train will leave Anuradhapura at 5.30 am and another Colombo-bound train will leave from Kankesanturai at 10.30 am.
The Railway Department requests the public to be vigilant when using level crossings since trains will start running on the northern railway line from today.
