Sri Lanka Railways has announced that only trains scheduled for Saturday service will operate today due to a special holiday declared amid the fuel supply issue.
Accordingly, 29 train journeys on the main line, 17 on the Kelani Valley line, and 33 on the coastal line will operate.
Additionally, 5 journeys on the Kelani Valley, 9 on the Puttalam, and 6 on the Batticaloa and Trincomalee lines will operate as scheduled.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has confirmed that bus services will operate across the island as usual.
SLTB officials noted that certain timetables have been adjusted, and added that instructions have been issued to deploy buses whenever necessary to meet passenger demand. (Newswire)
