Five top sportsmen of Trinity College were awarded the highest sports award the “Lion” on Tuesday at a special assembly held at the school hall. The ceremony was graced by the school principal Rev. Fr. Araliya Jayasundara assisted by Prefect of Games Uththiya Wijesinghe. The lion winners are (Cricket) Randu Somaratne, Pawan Pathiraja. (Cadeting) A.M.S Thalakoituwa. (Karate) H.P. Weerasekara. (Badminton) M.W.M.M.G. Wijesundara, but this time there was no lion winners in rugby.

Jayasinghe, M.R. Ishqullah. (Football) R.R. Wijeisnghe, S.N. Gunawardena, (Weightlifting) D. Karunasena, K, Jayaratne, B.Epitawatte. (Rugger) Lithmal Moragoda (re-awarded), Ravindu Wickremasinghe, Shehan Sirisoma, Bawantha Dharmapala, Kovid Wickremasinghe, Dulara Alwattegama, Loshika Wijekoon, Shamendra Disanayake, Shaveen Premaratne, Aatab Mansil, Jayageeth Basnayake, Chamendra Dhanapala and Kaveesha Edama.
