Information regarding twelve centers distorting Buddhism and the history and 85 people who are distorting the Dhamma have surfaced.
This has been revealed during the recent meeting of the Parliamentary Forum for Action for the Protection of National Heritage which met under the chairmanship of Jayantha Samaraweera MP.
Those present at the meeting explained at length about the distortions of the Buddhist philosophy, propaganda based on myths about the character of the Buddha, as well as the propaganda carried out using various media in a way that insults the monks.
Also, the proposals related to the steps that can be taken in this regard were also discussed at length. After two more sessions of meetings, the related proposals will be formulated into recommendations and the Chief Prelates will be informed and the necessary advice will be obtained and then the recommendations will be presented to Parliament, MP Samaraweera had said.
