The Presidential Cinema Awards ceremony will be held tomorrow (November 14), from 6.30 pm at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre, Colombo. President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be the Chief Guest and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and Transport, Highways and Mass Media Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardhana will be Guests of Honour.
National Film Corporation (NFC) Chairman Deepal Chandraratne said that Rs. 7 million will be expended on 53 awards after reviewing 42 films screened in 2019 and 2020. The ceremony was not held since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the 20th Presidential Film Awards ceremony, the first in 1979.
The film awards ceremony will be organized by the NFC under the sponsorship of the Godakanda Herbals Company.
