Three buses collided with each other near the Angulugaha junction on the Galle-Akuressa main road yesterday (26) morning, resulting in injuries to 29 passengers. The accident occurred when one bus, travelling from Imaduwa to Galle, slowed down to stop at a bus stop and was rear-ended by another bus following closely behind. A third bus, also traveling from Imaduwa to Galle, then collided with the rear of the second bus, leading to a three-bus pileup.
Following the accident, the injured passengers were transported to Imaduwa and Karapitiya hospitals. Among them, 15 passengers are receiving inpatient treatments.
Imaduwa Police are conducting further investigations.
