Two suspects were arrested today (25) near the Maliban Junction in Rathmalana and the “Nisala Sevana” cemetery in Mount Lavinia for the illegal possession of Black Coral.
The arrests were reportedly made during a joint raid conducted by Air Force Intelligence officers and wildlife officers from the Colombo District Range Forest Office located in Bellanwila.
Further investigations into this matter are being carried out by the Colombo District Wildlife Range Forest Office in Bellanwila.
Meanwhile facts regarding the raids are to be reported to the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court, the Department of Wildlife Conservation said. (Newswire)
