The bodies of two school students who went missing while bathing in the sea off Kalametiya, Hungama, on Saturday evening (30) were recovered this morning (31).
Three school students aged 12, 17 and 18 were reported missing following the incident. The bodies recovered have been identified as those of the 12-year-old and 18-year-old students.
Search operations are continuing to locate the remaining missing student, with personnel from the Police Lifesaving Unit in Tangalle, Sri Lanka Navy officers and local residents assisting in the ongoing efforts.
Police said the students involved in the incident were residents of the Hungama area. (NewsWire)
