Two children were killed and their father was injured after a hand grenade was hurled at a house in Dehiwala, police said.
The attack occurred at a house on Sirisangabo Road in the Kawdana area.
Police said two boys, aged 10 and 14, were killed in the explosion, while their 52-year-old father sustained injuries and was hospitalised.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that the grenade attack was linked to a clash involving organised criminal gangs, according to police.
Three police teams have been deployed to investigate the incident and identify those responsible. (Newswire)
