Two constables attached to the Mount Lavinia Police Station were caught smoking Ice (crystal meth) when the police raided a drug dealer’s house in Ratmalana.
Four persons including the drug dealer were packing drugs while the two constables were smoking Ice when the police team raided the place at around 3.00 am on December 21. The police officers were surprised to see two of their colleagues smoking Ice there.
The smuggler and his four drug peddlers were arrested and the narcotic which was being packed was seized.
One police officer also had 20 mg of Ice. The other police officer escaped arrest and investigations are underway to arrest him. Both the police officers were immediately suspended by their superiors.
