A two-day Workshop on Forensic Science for Coroners will be held today (12) and tomorrow (13) at the Department of Forensic Medicine, University of Peradeniya.
This Workshop has been organised with the aim of expanding the knowledge of Coroners in a number of areas, including changes within the body after death, post-mortem investigations and new trends, crime scene investigation, post-mortems where the cause of death cannot be ascertained and ethics. Professors Dinesh Fernando, Sarathchandra Kodikara, Amal Wedisinghe, Deepthi Edusuriya, Dr. Kasun Ekanayake and other scholars in the field of Forensic Science are designated to participate as Resource persons.
