Two persons were killed following a head on collision between a bus and a lorry at Giridara on the Pugoda-Delgoda Road yesterday morning.
The deceased were on board of the lorry. Another person who was in the lorry was admitted to Ragama Teaching Hospital with serious injuries. Police said that the victims are residents of Bandarawela and Biyagama.
The Navy bus transporting Naval personnel was plying towards Delgoda and the lorry was heading for Giridara when the accident occurred.
Dompe Coroner Jagath Sri Lal conducted the inquiry into the deaths of the two persons yesterday (16) afternoon at the Dompe Government Hospital and ordered the Dompe police to
send the dead bodies to the Ragama Hospital for post mortems. The driver of the Navy bus that was involved in the accident was arrested and he was to be produced before the Pugoda Magistrate’s Court.
