FLYHISPORTS along with two other co-sponsors have come forward to scrum down to boost the Havelock Sports Club Rugby at the upcoming Nippon Paint Sri Lanka Rugby Major League XV-a-side Rugby Tournament which will commence today.

Havelocks SC a club which has a proud history of over 100 years in existence, while playing a pivotal role in producing many players to don the National jersey, will have FlYHISPORTS an Autralian based company as their principal sponsor for the second consecutive year. Along with them Prima will be their Nutritional sponsor for second consecutive year while Lanka Hospital will take care of the players health coming on board as the official health care partner for yet another year.
Azmir Fajudeen better known as “Fajja” in rugby circles is fine product of Royal College, Colombo turned out be a prolific player for the park club will lead them this season. He is one of the top sportsman who maintained his loyalty towards the club and has played for them for the last six years. Sandesh Jayawickrama and Faiz Abdullah have been appointed as joint vice captains. With a squad of over 40 players, Havelocks rugby has taken some major strides by infusing several local and international players whose parents are born in Sri Lanka. Samuel Maduwantha former Antonian CH and Navy fly half has crossed over to the park club along with former Royal Navy and Sri Lanka centre Mushin Faleel, Udara Lakshan, Hashan Silva, Sooriya Dodangoda and Mohamed Rifas are the players who have been contracted to lock horns for them. With almost 20 senior players in their ranks they have also included 10 schools leavers from Isipathana, St.Peters, , Zahira, and D.S.Senanayake Colleges. Flanker Ollie Lal Buckle from U.K. and Prop forward Ethan Schneider Loos from Australia are the two overseas players included in their squad based on their parents who were born in Sri Lanka. While making strategic changes to their players build up, Havelocks have acquired the services of Saliya Kumara the former Vidyartha, Kandy and Sri Lankan player who coached the Lankan lasses for quite some time. Saliya was instrumental in tranforming the Navy team to a winning outfit at the last rugby season. Danushka Boteju will be his assistant coach with Sunimal as their strength and conditioning coach.
