The Children and Women’s Bureau of the Athurugiriya Police say that the two female monks (Bhikkhunis) who were reported as missing have been found.
A complaint had been filed with the Police that the two Bhikkhunis aged 15 and 14, who were at a monastery in Athurugiriya had gone missing since September 3.
According to the complaint, when the Police started an investigation, the mother of one of the Bhikkhunis who lives in Serunuwara had made a phone call saying her daughter with another female monk had come to her house.
The Police who visited the house had identified the two Bhikkhunis as the ones who had been reported as missing from the monastery.
