Engineers in charge of the Upper Kotmale Reservoir have opened two spill gates on October 21 due to continuous heavy rainfall across its catchment areas.
The engineers cautioned that if heavy rains persist in the region, the remaining spill gates will open automatically, advising residents living along both banks of the Kothmala Oya downstream of the dam to remain vigilant. (Newswire)
