Two suspects in boy’s shooting arrested

Two suspects allegedly involved in the shooting to death of a 14-year-old boy at Gajanayakagama in the Weeraketiya Police Division on September 19 have been arrested by the Weeraketiya Police Tuesday night (21) with a firearm. The suspects were found hiding in a forest reserve in the same area, Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said. The Police have also found the firearm suspected to have been used in the shooting of the boy.

One of the suspect arrested had a locally made firearm in his possession, police said. Further investigations are being carried out.
