Three people, including two women, were killed in a sharp-weapon attack in the Nahinda area of Mawanella, police said.
Police said the victims succumbed to their injuries following the attack, which occurred under circumstances that are still being investigated.
According to the Sri Lanka Police, investigations were launched after information was received via the 119 emergency hotline.
Mawanella police are continuing investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible. (Newswire)
