All voters who have not received their official polling cards to their houses from the Postal Department by September 14, for the 2024 Presidential Election can obtain them from their relevant area post offices, the Election Commission announced.
Accordingly, those who have not yet received their official polling cards by September 14 which was the final day of distribution of the polling cards to houses by the Postal Department are requested to visit their area post offices relevant to their voter registration on September 18, today (19) and tomorrow (20) to obtain them by showing their registered personal identification. Voters across the country can also obtain their official polling cards via the online system through the election website https://eservices.elections.gov.lk that has been introduced by the Election Commission as a special facility. Any registered voter whose name is listed in the 2024 voter registration list will be able to cast their vote at their designated polling centre with a valid personal identification card, as the official polling card is not mandatory in order to cast a vote, the Election Commission stated.
The 2024 Presidential Election will be held on Saturday, September 21 with 17,140,280 voters in the country eligible to cast their votes to elect the 10th Executive President of Sri Lanka.
