UNICEF Representative Christian Skoog met Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at her office on Friday (1). In this discussion, issues such as improving child protection and education in Sri Lanka, securing child rights, and creating safe learning environments were emphasised.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Child Protection and the Chief of Education from UNICEF Teona Aslanishvili.
Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri, Additional Secretary to the PM Mahinda Gunarathna, Women, Child and Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry K. Mahesan, Director General of United Nations and Human Rights – Foreign Affairs Ministry Dayani Mendis, Additional Secretary of Co-Curricular and Primary Education of Education Ministry P.C.K. Pirisyala and R. M. C. P. K. Rathnayake were also present.
