University of Vavuniya, IIT Madras sign MoU to boost academic cooperation

The University of Vavuniya and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening academic cooperation between the two institutions.

The agreement was signed recently at IIT Madras in Chennai, in the presence of Sri Lanka’s Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai, Dr. Ganesanathan Geathiswaran.

The University of Vavuniya delegation was led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Atputharajah and included senior academic and administrative officials representing the university’s faculties and international affairs division.

According to Sri Lanka’s Deputy High Commission in Chennai, the MoU will facilitate research collaboration, student and faculty exchanges, academic partnerships, and other cooperative initiatives between the two institutions.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Geathiswaran congratulated both institutions on the partnership and highlighted the growing educational and people-to-people ties between Sri Lanka and India.

He expressed confidence that the collaboration would create new opportunities for innovation, knowledge sharing, and academic excellence while further strengthening bilateral cooperation in higher education. (NewsWire)
