UNP Leader President Ranil Wickremesinghe has informed UNP party leaders to reorganize 80 electoral branches before the party convention on September 10.
UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara told the President at the UNP Working Committee meeting on July 25 that the reorganization of 135 electoral branches has been completed.
It was suggested that the party conference should be held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium; however some parties said that the space is not enough as a large number of party activists are expected to attend this year’s congress.
According to the suggestion made by the party General Secretary that a committee should be appointed for the organization of the conference and the venue of the conference should be decided at the Working Committee meeting, it was decided to take action in this regard at the Working Committee meeting to be held on August 2.
