UNP membership drive from today, Satyagraha on March 25

United National Party (UNP) leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is in the process of seeking the views of all Political Parties to formulate a national policy framework that will not change for 15 years to build Sri Lanka, Party Chairman Vajira Abeywardena said. He was addressing a media briefing at the UNP

office in Colombo yesterday (11). Vajira Abeywardena said that in order to solve the problems faced by the people of Sri Lanka, all Political Parties should agree on a set of national policies to protect the people as pro-people

parties within an iron framework and for that all communities in the country should unite and work together.

He said the United National Party (UNP) will launch its membership promotion programmes throughout the Colombo District on Saturday the 12 and Sunday 13. He said all preparations have been made to hold a massive Sathyakriya on March 25 at 3.00 pm at Hyde Park in Colombo.

“May all citizens of all races and religions be united through the National Sathyagraha that begins with a non-violent movement! Let the collapsed economy be revived and rebuilt! He said that

these determinations were being made and that the aim of this peaceful and disciplined Sathyagraha was to create an environment in which the Sri Lankan people could live with free

independent economic power. Vajira Abeywardena said that the practice and skills of the UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, who has 50 years of experience, should be utilized for that.

Vajira Abeywardena who pointed out that as per the message given by Mahatma Gandhi to unite India, all Sri Lankans as a nation are invited to come to Hyde Park in Colombo at 3 pm on March 25 clad in white and participate in the Sathyagraha.
